Spring 1: Week 1

Welcome to the first chapter with the Shade family. As mentioned with the Spencer family, there will be two chapters per season for each family. In the introduction, I posted the requirements for this generation but will copy it here to remind us of what Oliver needs to accomplish.

• Master the scientist career
• Complete Chief of Mischief and The Curator aspirations
• Master the Mischief, Logic, Gardening Skills
• Complete the Elements, Crystals, Metals, MySims and Microscope Prints collections
• Assign a Voodoo Doll to at least 1 sim
• Have 1 child and 1 alien child
• Invent all the inventions and max upgrades
• Create all serums and test them

There are a lot of requirements and we will start working on each one if possible. Let’s check in with Oliver on his first week…

At 4am, Oliver is watching tv in his small living room. He heads back to bed to get a little more sleep.

Oliver gets up early at 6am because he’s hungry so he makes a bowl of fruit salad to start his day. Oliver is a vegetarian so he will eat lots of salads.

Now that it’s morning and bright outside, we can see Oliver’s small home in Oasis Springs. It has a back yard garden that is sheltered so plants can grow year round. Oliver loves his place but it could use more decorations inside. All renovations with his starting money was used for outside of the house.

Oliver joins the Scientist Career so he can start working on his career and work on some of the collections, inventions and serums.

Oliver spends his day off before starting work, gardening in his yard, collecting collectibles and frogs and harvesting wild plants. This will give him extra cash and helps with collections.

Oliver had his first of many breakthroughs, he will need these to complete the inventions and serums.

Oliver needs to be disliked by two sims, so we run into Summer Holiday outside the house. She becomes the first of the two sims. After fighting Summer (Summer won), they despise each other which is even better than just disliking each other.

Oliver goes to his first day as a Scientist. He meets many coworkers but spends time getting to know the two single girls first. He meets Eden McArthur and Kalamainu’u Iona. He gets along well with everyone working here.

Oliver spends time talking with the robot and brainstorming ideas, for his work performance.

First element was collected while working today. Many more to go but he is already starting to complete this collection.

Oliver makes his first serum, Synthetic Food.

Oliver got his first promotion and on his way to maxing the career.

It’s the first holiday for Oliver, it’s EASTER!

Oliver attends the holiday ceremony and the Flower Bunny shows up and spreads flowers everywhere. Some we can use and others we already have.

Oliver starts a fight with Flower Bunny for more eggs and loses. He didn’t get any more eggs but he did get the Flower Bunny to despise him.

Since Oliver now has two sims that despise him, he has completed the first milestone of his aspiration.

Oliver invites Eden McArthur from work over to get to know her better. They do some star gazing as the evening wears on. They seem to be hitting it off pretty well.

Oliver is making more serums but no one at work will test them, not even his new friend, Cameron Fletcher. Oliver will have to try testing his serums another time or himself.

Oliver creates the Momentum Converter at work today. This is the first of the inventions for Scientist.

Another promotion for Oliver this week. He’s now level 3 of the Scientist career. Great job Oliver!

Eden brought over a gift for Oliver, she made him Gummy Bear Pancakes. He was happy to get such a wonderful gift that he invites Eden to stick around and spend time together.

Eden and Oliver become good friends.

Eden even tests a serum out for Oliver. He’s needed someone to try the Red Hot Serum so he can get it fully tested and work properly. Seems to work ok for Eden as she doesn’t have any side effects.

They share some Gummy Bear Pancakes for supper. Oliver and Eden chat with each other over the pancakes.

Before the week is over, Oliver invites Kalamainu’u over too. He wants to get to know her better and see how they are with one another. They are becoming better friends but not sure if anything more between them yet.
